Salado Rotary BBQ Cook-off

The Salado Rotary club will host a BBQ Cook-off from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 26 on Main Street in Salado.

This community event will be an opportunity for locals to enjoy the shops, the creek, Pace Park, a farmer’s market, food truck, and live band performance (will be at the end of Main Street off of Royal Street.) Attendees are asked to taste barbecue cuisine from smokers than will line Main Street and to vote for their favorites.

Wristbands to sample food and receive a scoreboard to participate in judging will be $10 for attendees age 13 and older, children age 12 and under are free.

Each scorecard will also be entered into a drawing for a grand prize basket.

Categories for judging include brisket, ribs, chicken and beans. There will be a buckle prize for overall Grand Champion and Reserve Champion. Awards will also be given for 1st through 3rd places in each category.
