Heroes on the Water Fort Hood Chapter Kayak Fishing at the Ranch

Heroes on the Water Fort Hood Chapter will host Kayak Fishing at the Ranch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 at Yowell Ranch in Killeen.

 

Participants in this free event will receive basic kayak fishing and paddling instruction, including angling. All skill sets ranging from beginners to the most experienced paddlers are welcome.

There will be a safety brief, after which fishing will begin. Children are welcome to attend as long as a designated parent or guardian is with them at all times, and safety flotation device is worn if near the water. A fishing license is not required for this event, but participants may bring their own equipment if they choose. Otherwise, all equipment and lunch will be provided. Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

There will be limited shade available on site, so it is recommended to bring a chair and portable source of shade. Event will be rain or shine, so attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather and bring a spare change of clothes along with a hat.
